Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Memphis Youth Symphony to perform at The Cannon Center on Sunday, March 5, 2017

The Memphis Youth Symphony Program (MYSP) and the Memphis Symphony Orchestra (MSO) are pleased to invite the community to their annual Side-by-Side concert on Sunday evening, March 5, 2017. S. C. Toe, Youth Symphony Conductor, will lead a combined orchestra of Youth Symphony musicians and professional musicians in a performance of pieces beginning with Verdi’s beloved Nabucco Overture and closing with the “Berceuse” and “Finale” from Stravinsky’s iconic Firebird Suite. The program also includes a performance of Grieg’s Homage March, Berlioz’ depiction of a murder and execution in “March to the Scaffold” from Symphonie Fantastique, and Mascagni’s Intermezzo from “Cavalleria Rusticana.”

The concert will begin at 6:00pm at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts, 255 N Main St., Memphis, TN. General admission tickets ($10 adults; $5 students) can be purchased in advance at the MYSP office or online at Ticketmaster.com.
