Residents of Midtown have been anxiously watching a huge development rise on East Parkway and Central. Steps away from Tiger Lane and just down the street from the Cooper-Young neighborhood, the Kroc Center has been under construction for the past two years.
Now, with its opening just weeks away, families can sign up to become charter members.
The new center, made possible by funds given to The Salvation Army by Joan Kroc, promises to bring Memphians together to play, meet, create, and even worship as one.
The 100,000-square-foot facility will boast an indoor pool, an outdoor splash park, a gym, soccer fields, basketball courts, meeting rooms, and much more. Kroc Memphis is one of 30 facilities, known as the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Centers, being built nationally to promote health, fitness, and unity. Ray Kroc was the founder of McDonalds. • Monthly memberships are $30/individual and $50/for family of four. To learn more, go to Krocmemphis.org.
