Art for Elephants event at Memphis Zoo help support elephants in the wild.
Visitors watch an elephant paint beautiful artwork and bid on the painting as well as other animal paintings, human-created artwork and stylized photos of the elephants. A special T-shirt created for the event features a painting created by Memphis Zoo’s Tyranza, the oldest African elephant in North America. Purchase an Art for Elephants T-shirt to be entered into the raffle for Tyranza’s painting. Dr. Kate Evans, Founder and Director, Elephants for Africa gives a special talk. Also includes kids activities and Elephant Enrichment Extravaganza at the elephant exhibit.
Proceeds from this event go to Elephants for Africa, a Botswana-based charity committed to protecting the endangered African elephant through research and education and promoting human-wildlife coexistence.
