LeMoyne-Owen College’s Center for Urban Leadership and Social Justice hosts Black Neighborhoods Matter as a part of their Black History Month programming.
Panelists include Paul Young, City of Memphis Housing and Community Development director, Charia Jackson of Frayser Community Development Corporation and Austin Harrison, housing consultant. They discuss the economic and social disparities in predominantly African-American neighborhoods versus their white counterparts. The discussion concludes with next steps for advocacy and equity.
