Local science and history comes to life in our specialized outdoor education programs through hands-on interactions, field journaling, and expertise of our education director.
Bring your own field journal and be ready for in-depth discoveries.
Recommended grades 3-7. Siblings always welcome. Stay to picnic and play after the class.
Geology and hydrodynamics come together in this special partnership with the CAESER Department at the University of Memphis. Explore their Water on Wheels interactive aquifer truck, create an aquifer in a cup, discover the types of soil layers under our feet, and walk the exposed aquifer recharge zone in the creek. We’ll get in the creek to discover the clay, so prepare by going barefoot and wading in a few inches of refreshing water.
