ArtUp is pleased to announce an exhibition in partnership with Fashion Designer and Illustrator, Kris Keys. Kris is known for her dreamy watercolor travel illustrations and textiles engaging subjects from women around the world.
The exhibition includes textile works, designs, and a live art performance from Kris' travel wear collection, Hematology. This color palette and silhouette of this collection is inspired by a blood disorder that Kris was diagnosed with as a young child. She uses the watercolor prints of her blood cells to transfer her obstacles of living with this blood disorder into beautiful garments and art for women. Curated by Kimberly Jacobs (Joyce Blackmon Curatorial Fellow at The Brooks Museum), the Hematology exhibition dissects Kris' design work and research journey towards creating this collection.
