Off the Scuff

Join the Hot Foot Honeys, Memphis’ only professional tap dance company, for their eighth annual spring showcase. Filmed and edited by award-winning videographer Eric Swartz of Event One Media, this virtual performance explores the Honeys’ season-long focus on the art of tap dance improvisation. Each of the numbers in Off The Scuff includes not only choreography, but also “improvography,” a structured form of improvisation, set to electronic music of all genres, including jazz, pop, rap, and classical. Electronic tap boards will also be featured in the Honeys’ first foray into creating a musical composition while dancing. Featuring outdoor and indoor performances at various Memphis locations including Levitt Shell, Brooks Museum, and Black Lodge.
