The fundraiser ends in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day with a candlelight vigil at Tom Lee Park, near Beale Street Landing. The public is invited to the vigil, which begins at 6 p.m.., and includes food trucks, live music by Michaela Compton, vocalist from Las Vegas now residing in Tupelo, and local songwriter Leah Rose. Shelby County Commission Chairman Heidi Schaefer, a longtime advocate for individuals with Down syndrome, is the guest speaker.
