Maria Montessori School’s 16th Annual Regatta and Duck Race

Each spring, Maria Montessori School celebrates the community with their annual Regatta and Duck Race.

The event is fun for the whole family, and includes take-and-make-art, delicious food, live music from local musicians, as well as kayak rides (additional fee) in the pond and boat rides in the harbor. The most anticipated event of the day comes in the afternoon, when families will compete to make “wacky boats” using only cardboard and duct tape, then select a team member to brave the pond in their makeshift boat.

The Duck Race also invites families to sponsor a rubber duck for $5. Then, all of the ducks race with $100 going to the sponsor of the winning duck.
