Memphis Zoo is an Artic Ambassador for Polar Bears International, a nonprofit with a mission is to conserve polar bears and the sea ice they depend on.
The schedule for the week includes:
Wednesday: A free showing of Tundra's Connections "Polar Research Then and Now" at noon inside the underwater viewing room at Northwest Passage.
Thursday: A free showing of Tundra Connections "Creative Conservation" at 2 p.m. inside the underwater viewing inside Northwest Passage. Special Keeper Chat at 2 p.m. about clean transportation and how it helps polar bears.
Friday: Craft Day! Get your own Flat Nanuk and help spread the message about polar bear conservation. Write a wish on Payton's birthday banner from noon until 2 p.m. Special Keeper Chat at 2:30 p.m. about the "Temperature Challenge" and how it can help save polar bears.
Saturday: Payton's Birthday Party!! Payton is turning 16 years old. Celebrate with an ice treat cake at noon He receives ice treats again at 2 p.m.
