Stax Music Academy Black History Month Show at Rose Theater @ University of Memphis

To help celebrate Memphis’ bicentennial this year, the Stax Music Academy will present its 8th annual Black History Month show at the Rose Theater at University of Memphis. This ultimate musical, multi-media experience for families will include music from classical and blues to gospel, R&B, funk, and rock and roll from artists such as W.C. Handy, Lucie Campbell, Isaac Hayes, Rufus Thomas, B.B. King, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Anita Ward, and many others. A special stage setting will be designed to change to reflect different eras of Memphis music and other video surprises are in store.

The evening show is open to the general public and begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children under 12, and $80 for a package of 10 tickets. Reservations required.
