The holiday season is upon us and what better way to get into the spirit than to attend a town parade? With festive floats, school bands, and Santa sightings, kids will love the magic at these community gatherings (listed below in chronological order).
Monday, December 2, 6:30 p.m.
Hernando hosts its annual parade, which winds down Commerce Street from the railroad tracks, around the Hernando Square, stops at East Center Street. For more, including information on Cedar Hill Christmas Tree Farm activities, visit visitmississippi.org/events.
Friday, December 6, 7 p.m.
Collierville’s 43rd annual Christmas Parade runs down Byhalia north of White Road at Polo Run to West Collierville Middle School on Frank Road. Inclement weather date is December 7th. For more information about this or other Christmas in Collierville events, visitcollierville.com.
Saturday, December 7, 1 p.m.
The parade route will begin at Newport Avenue traveling down Navy Road to Leroy Boatwright Street. Saturday, December 7, 2 p.m.
This annual event features, vintage cars, floats, bands, and more. The theme for this year’s Christmas parade is “I’ll be home for Christmas.” The parade begins at Olive Branch Elementary School, down Pigeon Roost, through Old Towne to Hwy. 305 and back to Olive Branch High School. Saturday, December 7, 3 p.m.
Arlington’s annual Christmas Parade starts on Airline Road. The 2018 route stretched from Arlington High School to Arlington Elementary School. Visit townofarlington.org for current information.
Saturday, December 7, 4 p.m.
With theme of "The Songs of Christmas,” this year’s celebration will begin at the traffic light in front of the McDonald's on Stage Road and head west to Shelby Street. Two emcee stands, one at the corner of Stage Road and Bartlett Boulevard (in front of Walgreens) and the other in front of National College (corner of Stage and Court St.), will announce entries as they pass by. Saturday, December 7, 4:30 p.m.
Horn Lake’s 3nd annual Bullfrogs & Mistletoad celebration will be held at Latimer Lakes Park. See Santa, watch the tree lighting, and enjoy holiday displays, walk-by floats, carolers, and more. For more information, visit hornlakechamber.com.
Monday, December 9, 6:30 pm
The 39th annual Southaven Christmas Parade begins at SouthPoint Church. The parade lineup will be at the parking lot of Southpoint Church, near Hwy 51. The parade will head down Main Street to Northwest Drive, where it will turn and go south to City Hall. For more information, visit southavenchamber.com.
Saturday, December 14, 2 p.m.
With floats, horses, marching bands, and more, the Germantown Parade will begin begins at Kimbrough Road and Farmington Boulevard, head west on Farmington toward Exeter Road, turns north on Exeter, and end at Germantown Athletic Club. Uniformed Marines and volunteers will collect new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots along the route. Rain date is December 9th. For more info, visit germantown-tn.gov.
Saturday, December 14, 3 p.m.
Featuring school bands, dance groups, car clubs, floats, and even Santa Claus with his reindeer, the big Memphis parade travels down world-famous Beale Street. For more information, visit bealestreet.com.
