Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris and the Division of Community Services recently launched a new initiative granting free access to more than 30 arts organizations across Shelby County — accessible to elementary students and up to three of their family members.
The free pass offers a focus on student populations that have been traditionally underserved and will be distributed at various libraries and community centers throughout the county.
We want to foster a lifelong appreciation for the arts in our young people,” says Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris. “We know that access to the arts not only improves educational attainment, but also enhances their daily lives.”
The Art for All Culture Pass is one of the many initiatives spearheaded by the Shelby County Arts & Culture Nonprofit Subcommittee’s “Art for All” campaign to make arts and culture accessible to all residents.
“The arts sector in Shelby County is thriving and we want our youngest residents, and their families, to have access to all that our county has to offer,” says Harris. “The Arts and Culture Subcommittee is committed to ensuring that all residents can enjoy the arts, without cost being a barrier. Now the culture pass will engage our students, serving as a gateway to the county’s vibrant cultural scene.”
Now until December 31, 2025, families can pick up their pass and register online to enjoy galleries, museums, performances, and cultural celebrations — all at no cost.
