Nut ReMix is a modern interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s classic set on Memphis' Beale Street. This 16th annual production brings a world of dance and music into the show, from classical ballet and hip hop, to flamenco, Memphis jookin', and West African dance and drumming. While Memphis Symphony Orchestra plays selections from Tchaikovsky’s score, the Memphis Symphony Big Band presents pieces from Duke Ellington’s jazz version of The Nutcracker.
