The first North American touring production — in over 25 years — of the enchanting and timeless Broadway musical, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, will perform in Memphis, at the Orpheum Theatre from June 2-7, 2026. Disney Theatrical Group and the Orpheum Theatre Group have announced that tickets will go on sale to the public on February 13.
Benjamin Cheng, an alumnus of Briarcrest Christian School (‘20) and the Orpheum High School Musical Theatre Awards and STAR Council, will make his national tour debut in the Ensemble, as well as an understudy for Beast and Gaston.
Based on the 1991 Academy Award-winning animated feature film, Beauty and the Beast premiered on Broadway in 1994, and still ranks as one of the longest-running shows in the industry’s history. Members of the original creative team are reuniting to bring this captivating tale to life.
The structure and tone of the story and score made Disney history. It was just the second time that a Disney film had been organized as a stage musical where songs are integral to plot and characterization.
Brought to life like never before, the spectacular new sets and dazzling costumes will leave audiences feeling the joy and magic of Disney.
