We hope you’re all hanging in there, parents. With COVID-19 spreading rapidly throughout the nation and our region, times have changed — and quickly. We at Memphis Parent are working from home, keeping you informed and engaged with local venues and activities that have moved to the virtual world. As we adapt to the shifting environment of our city, its businesses, and, in turn, our advertising revenue, we have opted not to print an April edition.
Not to worry, y’all. We’ve ramped up our online content, which we share on social media daily and which can be perused at memphisparent.com any time. Some of what you’ll find includes cool virtual classes, activities, tours, and more that you can participate in from the comfort of your home. We’ve covered topics like self-care (highly important during stressful times such as these) and how to make your home an ideal learning environment (this can come in handy as we’re all taking an unexpected turn toward home-schooling).
We’re keeping an eye on bright spots, too, highlighting kids and teens who, before the pandemic hit the U.S., were doing cool things — a local high school student who started a nonprofit mentoring program, a pair of sibling entrepreneurs and their business. We can’t wait for them to get back to it!
Read about all of the above and more by visiting our website. We’re updating it often, and we hope to see you there.
In the meantime, we wish you health and comfort during this unprecedented time. Stay home, stay safe, and be well.
See you online!
