The organization which inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold, also celebrates the legacy of outgoing CEO Lisa Moore, retiring after 10 years of transformative leadership.
Lisa Moore's dedication and contributions to Girls Inc. of Memphis span an impressive 34 years. She began her journey as a volunteer in the late 80s and quickly rose through the ranks, serving as assistant center director at the LDT Center and later as center director at the South Park Center. Lisa's passion for growing girls led her to Massachusetts, where she served as program director of Girls Inc. of Lynn and executive director of Girls Inc. of Haverhill. She then took on the role of Region IV Director for Girls Inc.’s national organization from 1995 to 1999. Ten years ago, at the urging of her mentor, Patricia C. Howard, Lisa returned to where it all began as CEO of Girls Inc. of Memphis.
Under Lisa's visionary leadership, Girls Inc. of Memphis experienced remarkable growth and transformation: rebuilding the organization's positive reputation in the community, tripling the number of girls served, and spearheading the renovation of existing centers, including the $8 million Patricia C. Howard Campus.
"While we bid farewell to Lisa Moore, we are immensely grateful for her exceptional leadership and the incredible impact she has had on our organization," said Martinez.
As Lisa Moore transitions from Girls Inc. of Memphis, she will take on new endeavors through her consulting business, DancingWater LLC. "Girls Inc. of Memphis proudly welcomes Sylvia Martinez and Dora Brown Harris as our next generation of strong, smart, and bold leaders," said Moore. "Their exceptional qualifications, commitment, and passion for empowering girls make them the perfect duo to lead us into the future."
Girls Inc. of Memphis looks forward to continued growth and success under the leadership of Sylvia Martinez and Dora Brown Harris. For more information about Girls Inc. of Memphis, visit girlsincmemphis.org.
