With Black Friday and Cyber Monday focused on consuming, it's important to have a day that challenges us to give to those less fortunate during this season of giving.
#GivingTuesday is part of a nationwide movement that aims to benefit local charities. Locally, Catholic Charities of West Tennessee is taking the lead by encouraging donations to their Gifts for God's Children outreach campaign. Clothing, toys, and non-perishable foods collected on Tuesday, November 27th, will be dispersed to help more than 1,300 children and elderly in Memphis.
From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. three Homewood Suites locations will be drop-off points for people interested in donating the following items:
- warm clothes (all sizes)
- unwrapped toys
- bikes
- bicycle helmets
- non-perishable food
- gift cards (up to $25 in value)
- cash or checks
