Calling all poets to celebrate the bicentennial of the city with 'A New Century of Soul' MEM200 event. Hosted by 2019 Artsy Awards nominee for Best Male Rap/Hip-Hop Artist, Jay DaSkreet, the event features Writeous Soul, G-Nerd, Melodious, Sublime Sunshine, Bria B., Princeton James, and a #BringYourSoul collaborative performance by the OTG Poetic Society. This community engagement event utilizes the artistic medium central to Hamilton, and future-thinking poets will explore the legacy theme of the show through the lens of history around Memphis. The History Around Memphis Poetry Slam is the culmination of two free poetry workshops held earlier this month.
