Le Bonheur Club hosts its first annual LeBonheuROO! family-friendly festival event Saturday, April 6th (rain date April 7th), from noon to 4 p.m.
“This is actually the first family-friendly event we have hosted to benefit Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital,” says Karen Carlisle, benefit co-chair for the event and former president for Le Bonheur Club. “We’re really excited about it.”
The event will take place at Canale Farms in Oakland, where families can partake in festival activities within a rustic countryside view. Festivities will include corn hole toss, giant slide, cake walk and bingo, and wagon rides. Canale Farms will provide a barbecue buffet, and families can bring coolers with their favorite beverages and dishes. Live music will be provided by School of Rock band, local band The Hummingbirds, and Nashville band My Other Job.
All proceeds from ticket sales, cake walk, bingo, and the silent and live auctions will benefit Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Tickets ($30) can be purchased here.
“Le Bonheur Club opened Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in 1952 to help care for our children of Memphis,” says Carlisle. “We have been committed to the hospital since we let the balloons with the keys go on opening day to symbolize that the doors to the hospital would never be closed to any child.”
