The Mid-South Transplant Foundation (MSTF) is asking communities in Memphis and the Mid-South to join them for Blue & Green Day Mid-South on April 14. The event is part of National Donate Life America’s month-long campaign to honor National Donate Life Month in April.
For more than 50 years, MSTF has helped to facilitate the organ and tissue donation process between donor families and transplant recipients and promotes awareness of donation through public and professional education. MSTF works every day to save and/or improve the quality of lives for people in need of transplants, while also ensuring donors’ end-of-life wishes are fulfilled. The organization encourages everyone to register to become organ and tissue donors so more lives can be saved.
There are many ways to show your support on April 14, and anyone can participate, including individuals, businesses, schools, groups, etc. On this day, participants can light their buildings, homes, wear blue and green clothing, write a message on their sidewalk, decorate their car, and more. Blue & Green Day Mid-South will conclude with the ‘Mighty Lights’ lit in blue and green on the cables of the Big River Crossing and Hernando de Soto Bridges in downtown Memphis.
