The Children's Museum of Memphis (CMOM) is once again bringing Mardi Gras to Memphis, with its annual bash of family fun and festivities, including music, crafts, parade, and a whole lot more — February 14, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
(Laissez les bons temps rouler!) CMOM is letting the good times roll, and invites families to join in the celebration as the museum transforms into the streets of New Orleans.
Children will be engaged by the celebratory sights and sounds, including:
- Customize festive accessories with mask and crown decorating
- Dance party with cajun-inspired tunes by live DJ
- Robotics session to help plan parade route
- Decorate cardboard float to prep for indoor Mardi Gras parade
- Gather for a tale about an old, tired alligator and his big pot of gumbo
- Go on a scavenger hunt to find Louisiana swamp creatures
- Jump into a round of King Cake musical chairs
- Collect candy and enjoy carousel rides throughout the event
