The Shelby County Books from Birth program has merged to become Porter-Leath's newest program. Books from Birth is an affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides age-appropriate books for nearly 70 percent of Shelby County children under age 5 at no cost to families.
"Combining it [Books from Birth] with Porter-Leath’s back office support and outreach capabilities, we expect the program to continue to grow and thrive as a universal intervention ensuring every child enters kindergarten ready to learn," says Sean Lee, Porter-Leath president.
Children who live in Shelby County and are ages birth to 5 years old can receive a free book monthly by registering at booksfrombirth.org/enroll.
