The Orpheum Theatre Group invites the Memphis community to experience the fire and flair of Flamenco, during their free dance workshop with award-winning artists from Tablao Flamenco — Wed., September 24, at the Halloran Center. Registration is now open, and space is limited.
The free dance workshop is part of the upcoming Rhythm of the Arts presents Tablao Flamenco, a one-night engagement performance on Thurs., September 25, 7:30 p.m., at the Halloran Center.
Tablao Flamenco brings a fresh approach to this dynamic artform through improvisation, passionate music, and the most sought-after awarding-winning artists. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or just curious, all are welcome to explore the passion, rhythm, artistry, and spirit of flamenco artform.
Building on the success of our previous community dance workshops with companies like Alvin Ailey, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Memphis Jookin’, and more, we are excited to get people out to move together and explore the culture of Flamenco with these extraordinary artists,” says Jennifer McGrath, vice president of Education, Community Engagement, & Halloran Centre Programming. “We are proud to do so at no cost to ensure it is accessible to all.”
The dance workshop is open to all ages and abilities — no prior experience necessary. Participants will experience the magnetic energy and culture of Flamenco firsthand and learn the basics of this passionate and dynamic art.
