Tim Ware, with daughter, Imani
Being Imani’s dad is like being wrapped in the warm rays of the sun every minute of every day. Her energy lights up every space she enters; her laughter is contagious and fills my heart with joy. Heaven gave me the perfect gift in you, and I’ll love and protect you from now until infinity."
That's local dad and businessman, Tim Ware, expressing his love for eight-year-old daughter, Imani, who recently joined Memphis Parent for a Valentine's special on Bluff City Life w/Gina Neely.
Tim shares the same sentiment as most girl-dads, and that is to be their first teacher and influencer on how they should be loved and treated by others.
Tim is no stranger to working with youth — in fact, he has worked in education for most of his professional years. But when it comes to raising a daughter full of life and personality, the pressure is always on to be the best example and work diligently to “get it right” as a parent. Tim currently serves as executive director of Grizzlies Prep, and co-owner of Wing Guru in Whitehaven, and his experience is extensive with service in public education that spans nearly two decades — from classroom teacher to administrator.
So, when it comes to leading a purposeful path and expectations for Imani, that is definitely a more challenging, but exciting job a father could have.
Tim lives in Memphis with his wife, Kim Ware — who shares co-ownership of Wing Guru and is a business leader and entrepreneur in her own right — and daughter, Imani.

We’re not done yet!
The fun is just beginning, because Katie Walsh, attorney and vice president of Association of Junior Leagues International, joined Memphis Parent for a Galentine's special on Bluff City Life w/Gina Neely, along with Gina’s friend and former NBA entertainment director, Tamara Moore. And what a celebration it was!
Gina kicked us off with a simple recipe for chocolate-covered strawberries with just three ingredients: strawberries, Hershey’s milk chocolate bar (works best for melting), and hot water. That’s it! So, you can skip the chocolate factory lines (and the cost that goes along with it) and make this sweet dessert in minutes right in the comfort of your own home — with your besties.
Katie shared some crafty ways to dress up your beverages and glasses for your favorite drinks, and some much-needed spa-inspired gifts that include necessities like cozy footies, facial masks, friendship bracelets, nail polish, and other fun things they cherish. Top it all off with customizing their gifts by imprinting their names on them (Cricut machines work great).
