Golf & Games Family Park hosted a ribbon-cutting event Wednesday, June 12th, to mark the arrival of its new Toptracer technology and other new, exciting additions for children and families to enjoy.
“Fifty-three years ago, when I built this place, I had no idea where the road would lead,” says Aubrey Smith, owner of Golf & Games. “And along the way, there have been a lot of innovations that have revolutionized the recreation industry.”
The new Toptracer system, which utilizes a cutting-edge Top Golf technology used around the world for televised games and other recreational driving ranges, allows golfers of all ages and skill levels to track their progress on the driving range. The system uses a combination of cameras and RFID golf balls to provide playback and instant feedback to track points, ball speed, apex, and more. Golfers can also download a Toptracer Range Community App to track their progress session by session by viewing their entire history and accessing leaderboards.
“Our system has already tracked over half a million shots since it went live five weeks ago,” says Aaron Bos, general manager of Golf & Games.
Smith and Bos also announced the recent release of Hologate, its new immersive virtual reality game wherein teams of all ages can choose between several VR experiences, like taking down a hoard of zombies in Zombyte or participating in a dance battle in Groove Guardians.
Golf & Games also replaced its hydraulic MaxFlight roller coaster and flight simulator with an electric one and has received upgrades to its two-level, 6,000-square-foot Lasertron arena.
With these new and updated attractions, as well as classic Golf & Games experiences, like go-karts, bumper boats, batting cages, and a swimming pool, children and families are sure to remain entertained for hours.
“We’re very thrilled to show the community that we are and always have been the go-to destination for entertainment here in the city,” says Bos.
