If you are one of those people who believes opera is boring or difficult to understand, Opera Memphis wants you. Hoping to inspire new listeners, Opera Memphis is presenting 30 Days of Opera, a month-long series of free events held throughout the city.
This event “brings opera to the streets in bite-size chunks, allowing families to get a small taste of the art,” shares general director Ned Canty. “This can be the first step towards going to the opera and forming a life-long love for this art form.” Highlights of the 2013-2014 season include free performances on Family Day (November 3), and The Christmas List (December 7 & 8).
