Tim and Meredith Simpson with their girls, Molly (2), Lily (8), and the twins, Allie (6), and Hailey (6).
Hi, I'm Meredith Simpson, and a day in our life is a wonderful one that begins early and ends late. As a mom of four, I’m always on the go and never have much time to sit still. My husband and I love the craziness we share with our four daughters. The hardest thing I do is to try and enjoy each moment with all of them.
5:45 a.m. • It's early but I'm up and ready to hit the road. I typically run four to five miles, three days a week before sunrise.
6:30 a.m. • By the time I return home, my 2-year-old Molly is awake and ready to start her day. I quickly jump in the shower and get ready with baby on my hip.
7:00 a.m. • The other three girls, Lily, and twins, Allie and Hailey, have gotten up, dressed, and are ready for breakfast.
7:05 a.m. • Once I’m in the kitchen, I’ll fix cereal, oatmeal, or frozen waffles. I love oatmeal in the morning, and will often eat mine while putting lunchboxes into backpacks (I prepare them the night before).
7:15 a.m. • Beauty time! With four girls, I’m always busy fixing lots of hair! My children have thick, beautiful hair that Daddy cannot do. Once they’re ready, I head to my job as a dental hygienist, which I go to two to three days a week. Tim drives the girls to school, since he teaches there as well. I'm usually following close behind.
8:00 a.m. • On mornings I am home, I’m busy doing laundry, grocery shopping, house cleaning, meal prep, and playing with my toddler. We love going to the park, zoo, children’s museum, and library.
1:30 p.m. • Our family enjoys being outdoors. Our favorite family outing is riding on the Greenline. My girls love to ride their bikes and this is a great, safe place to enjoy riding together.
3:30 p.m. • When my girls arrive home from school, it’s time for homework, and play.
5:00 p.m. • Dinner is served, provided we don’t have sports practice or church activities. We’re very involved with our church and attend several times a week.
7:30 p.m. • Bath time.
8:00 p.m. • Snuggling, then it’s off to bed.
8:30 p.m. • Once the children are asleep, my husband and I begin preparing for the next day. We make lunches, lay out clothes, sort and put away laundry, clean up dinner dishes, and check email. We really try to stand back and take our children in. We love to watch them play, and interact with each other. I’m always mindful to enjoy my kids and take time to tell them how much I love them and how proud I am of them. All I know is God has given me this incredible job of raising these children for His Glory and that is what we are striving to do. We are, blessed.
My favorite book is: I really don't read!
I started the Hunger Games, but haven't gotten very far. However, I usually have a Bible study going and I read my Bible a lot.
I find great things at: Target and Ann Taylor Loft.
I pamper myself by: Getting a pedicure, and sipping sweet tea.
Early bird or night owl?: Early bird! My bedtime is usually 11 p.m.
Girl’s Night Out: I love chick flicks and going out to the movies.
