Been downtown lately? Bring the kids to Riverside Drive and Beale Street on Saturday, June 28th, and take part in the grand opening of Beale Street Landing. The $42 million riverfront development project is a boat-docking facility that will welcome tourists who arrive to Memphis via cruise boat. It’s also includes a children’s park and an event space.
Island Play is an imaginative playground where kids can climb on a catfish and boat sculptures while enjoying views of the Mississippi. Within steps of the playground is Greenbelt Park, that parallels the river, and the Bluffwalk which is above Riverside Drive. Plan to take a walk and enjoy the city skyline. The ribbon cutting festivities begin at noon.
