Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel abroad? If you pay a visit to the Spring Jam at the Neighborhood Christian Center this month, you’ll have a chance to learn while you explore the country of Greece. The festival, which takes place March 9th and 10th, is designed to expose children and adults to other cultures, says center staff. In the last several years they’ve celebrated the nations of Italy, China, and Mexico.
Visitors will go through customs and have their money exchanged, then visit a marketplace where you can shop for goods with your pretend currency and sample Greek foods. The tour lasts two hours. Spring Jam is open to school groups by appointment on Friday and to the public on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The center is located on the corner of Jackson and Manassas.
