30 Days of Opera: Un Ballo in Maschera at Memphis Brooks Museum of Art

Artist Yinka Shonibare MBE explores the idea of film as a "moving tableau" or animated painting with luminous surfaces, attention to detail, and compositional effects. 

Opera Memphis introduces Un Ballo in Maschera, and following the screening, they perform in the museum rotunda among the four figures from Shonibare's series Rage of the Ballet Gods. It is a contemplation of climate change through the symbolism of Greek mythology.
