EVENT DETAILS:
As a part of National Entrepreneurship Month, Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-South will be holding virtual JA Launch Lessons throughout the month of November. JA Launch Lessons feature local innovators and business leaders sharing their entrepreneurial journey with local high school students so that the students may gain firsthand knowledge about what it takes to start, build and run a business right here in the Mid-South.
This year's virtual event will feature guest entrepreneurs such as:
Jason Farmer, Founder and CEO of BLP Film Studios
David Quarles IV, a local creative and wellness enthusiast with a professional background in interior styling and design as well as jewelry design
Tony Alexander, President and Managing Director of Made in Memphis Entertainment
Britney Thornton, JUICE Orange Mound
Cristina McCarter, City Tasting Box
These and several other local entrepreneurs will be virtually visiting with local high school students on November 3, 10, and 17 to share what inspired them to start their own businesses — all in an effort to open students' eyes to the opportunities provided by entrepreneurship. We, at JA, believe it is critical to demonstrate to young people what it takes to be successful in the world so they can launch businesses and contribute to our global economy.
This program is made possible due to generous support from the Jay Uiberall Foundation which supports the Jay Uiberall Entrepreneurs at JA. These students include those in the JA Be Entrepreneurial program as well as participants in JA Launch Lessons, a program that brings entrepreneurs into classrooms (virtually, this year) to share their wisdom and teach children to be world ready.
