Do you or your children love to draw animals? Then come be a part of a new exhibit, What’s Your Favorite Animal? at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Massachusetts.
“Making pictures is how I express my truest feelings, my truest self,” Eric Carle once said. Now, this popular author joins hands with 14 other children’s book artists who explore their favorite creatures in Carle's latest book, What’s Your Favorite Animal?
In this engaging children's book, you'll find topnotch illustrators Steven Kellogg, Rosemary Wells, Mo Willems, Lane Smith, and others who share their unique drawings and explain why they are attracted to their animal.
In addition, readers worldwide can express themselves by submitting original artwork in digital form to the What’s Your Favorite Animal? project. To celebrate the new book, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts, is hosting a special exhibition this spring.
Participants are asked to submit their artwork as high-resolution JPGs that can be viewed online. Artwork will be accepted through August 1st.
Selected entries will appear on a digital screen in the museum gallery from April 8th through August 31st. The artwork will also be displayed in an online exhibition that will live permanently on the museum's blog. Museum officials hope the project will inspire the creativity of people around the world.
