If you love eating blueberries, the picking season has begun. Nesbit Plantation (690 Blankston Road, exit 284 off I-55) is now welcoming visitors; their official opening day was June 15. Their farm grows blueberries and they are delicious. Picking blueberries is a snap, since there are no thorns and the berries are evenly dispersed throughout the bush. That means little ones can pick down low while dad picks up high. Not only do they taste good, they're good for you. Growing season usually goes through early July.
