Church Health recently broke ground on a construction project to expand facilities of The Well, a prevention and wellness center for children ages six weeks to 12 years old, and their families.
Designed for the children of Church Health patients and YMCA members, the construction initiative includes the addition of an outdoor playscape, providing opportunities for free, supervised, and unstructured play in a safe environment. The new space creates an opportunity for children to explore through play, while their parents attend medical appointments and wellness activities at the YMCA.
The playscape will be an extension of The Well, Church Health’s childcare facility located on the ground floor of Crosstown Concourse, and will provide a state-of-the-art outdoor space for children served by the not-for-profit organization.
This playscape will enhance the experience of the precious children we serve by providing a safe and educational outdoor space,” says Scott Morris, founder and CEO of Church Health. “We are so grateful to those organizations and friends who are working with us to make this happen!"
The new facilities will ensure that future generations will have access to safe and fulfilling outdoor spaces. For Church Health, Crosstown Concourse, and the city of Memphis, it serves as a symbol of care and an investment into the lifelong pursuit of health and happiness.

The playscape is funded by Carnival Memphis, US Health Resources and Services Agency, International Paper, The Canale Foundation, The Buckman Foundation, Nike, and The American Academy of Dermatology.
