I recently read a social media post that pointed this out: There are only 18 summers in childhood. Meaning, parents only get 18 (if that) summers with their children. When you put it in plain numerical terms, 18 isn’t many. And boy do they fly by. Lazy days on the couch, backyard cookouts while the kids run around spraying each other — and you — with the water hose, sleepovers with a handful of rowdy little ones, the magic of 4th of July fireworks.
Remember to take it easy, be present, and enjoy each precious moment.
