Looking for free fun family events this month? Many organizations sponsor Easter Egg hunts. Children ages 9 to 12 can enjoy the After Dark Easter Egg Hunt on April 15th, at 7 p.m. at Cameron Brown Park, 8628 Farmington Boulevard., in Germantown. Bring a flashlight and bucket to hunt for eggs. Games and activities will be offered before the hunt. Registration deadline is April 8th. Call 757-7382 for more information.
On April 16th, the Memphis Symphony Orchestra presents Family Tunes and Tales, a series of free concerts at different public libraries for families with young children. Musicians from MSO chamber ensembles representing each of the four different sections of the orchestra — strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion — perform at different public library branches. Children enjoy a storybook reading by librarians and a thematically related craft activity presented by the Junior League of Memphis. Family Tunes and Tales is made possible by The First Tennessee and Thomas W. Briggs Foundations.
All concerts begin at 11 a.m. A brass quintet will perform at the Central Library. A percussion group will play at Bartlett Library. KinderTrio will perform at Cordova Branch Library. A string quartet will play at the Germantown Community Library and a woodwind quintet will be at the Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch Jr. Library in Collierville.
