Summer vacation always comes as a relief. But don’t let that learning go out the window. Reading a little each day will help your child keep the gains he made in school. Simply enroll in the Memphis Public Library’s Summer Reading Club (June 1st to July 28th). Download a reading log from the library’s website (memphislibrary.org/summer-reading-club-2012), and get going. In addition to reading books, children can listen to books on tape, and read magazines or comic books.
For every 10 books/hours you read, your child will receive one entry book in the prize drawing. After you read four weeks, you'll receive a free book, and after six weeks, a drawstring backpack. The branch level prize is a pizza party at Incredible Pizza Company in Cordova. One child and one teen winner will be selected from each branch to attend. Each winner can bring one friend or sibling.
